Next, registration will be held in the Moscone North and South lobbies on Monday and Tuesday during the following times: Monday: 7am – 7pm; Tuesday: 6:30am – 6:00pm; and in Moscone South lobby only on Wednesday: 7am – 6pm; Thursday: 7am – 5pm; and Friday: 7:30am – 1:30pm.

OK, let’s get to the good stuff!

What’s New for 2020?

The theme of this year’s RSA Conference is the Human Element. With all the new technologies, strategies and artificial intelligence being employed by both security pros and threat actors, one thing remains constant: us. We are the Human Element within cybersecurity. We’re the ones on the front lines, protecting not just data, but our most vulnerable people and every aspect of our lives—from election hacking to the weaponization of social media. We’re the ones making the hard decisions about privacy, ethics, usability, and responsibility, and how to ensure doors remain open for everyone. The goal of RSA Conference is to help the industry mature while preparing individuals to grow into their roles as defenders of the world. When we recognize that cybersecurity is, fundamentally, about people protecting people, the world becomes a better, more secure place.

RSA Conference introduced three new tracks to its agenda this year: Product Security, driven by the growing requirements for products to be natively secure and privacy-aware; Open Source Tools, aimed to explore best practices for better, more secure open source code in tools and applications; and Anti-Fraud, dedicated to fraud prevention, detection, response and recovery programs.

Also new this year, RSAC Engagement Zone is a dedicated networking space meant to encourage interactive and collaborative learning. Available to Full Conference Pass holders, the space includes a coffee bar and areas for one-on-one meetups or small group discussions with like-minded individuals, problem solving, speed networking, Birds of a Feather, and cooperative learning sessions. The Engagement Zone is located on Level 2 of Moscone West and is open Tuesday: 9am – 4:30pm; Wednesday: 8am – 5pm; and Thursday: 8am – 5:10pm.

Looking Ahead to Monday

Ready to kick off the week? A full list of Monday’s activities can be found here, but here are some of the highlights:

The RSAC Innovation Sandbox, a fan favorite, returns with 10 finalists competing for the prestigious “Most Innovative Startup” title. Finalists will have three minutes to present their transformative technologies to a panel of judges, followed by a Q&A session. Check out the contest at 1:30pm on Level 2 of Moscone South. The winner will be announced at 4:30pm.

Open to all Full Conference and Expo Plus pass holders, select popular Monday sessions include:

  • Emerging Threats – a full day seminar (8:30am – 5:00pm) focused on emerging threats like ransomware, targeted attacks, emerging IoT threats and new aspects of social engineering and deep fake human manipulation. Sessions in Moscone West 2014 SEM get inside the minds and motivations of the adversaries, discuss the changing threat landscape, top attack vectors, new and innovative research, and effective response and recovery strategies.

  • How-To for Innovators and Entrepreneurs – this half-day (9am – 12:10pm) seminar in Moscone South 215 SEM will explore lessons learned from 1,000 startups, funding and financing in today’s competitive marketplace, an inside view of what makes a CISO take a shot on a startup, and tips and insights from brand makers and marketing gurus on how to rise above the noise. Each segment includes an opportunity for audience members to ask questions of panelists and have a networking break.

  • Personnel Management and Building Successful Cybersecurity Teams – join us for a half-day (1:30pm – 5pm) seminar in Moscone West 2009 SEM to learn from global leaders about programs that build culture, effective cross-team communication, nontraditional hiring practices and programs that find extraordinary talent from across generations, geographies, and genders to build more effective teams, and how to fortify against talent exfiltration.

To round out the first full day, the Welcome Reception offers RSAC attendees the opportunity to meet and mingle with peers from 5pm – 7pm in the Expo. Enjoy drinks and hors d’oeuvres while exploring solutions from nearly 700 leading cybersecurity organizations.

We are excited to welcome everyone to RSA Conference 2020 and we hope that you are all ready to be inspired by networking with your peers and witnessing the incredible minds that will take our stage and lead sessions over the next five days.

Here we go!
