RSA Conference Europe - Day 3 Highlights

Posted on by Linda Gray Martin

I can't believe how quickly the 3 days of RSA Conference Europe came around. A big thanks to all the speakers, our sponsors and our delegates contributing to thought provoking and engaging discussions on subjects covering the most topical issues in information security and of course to the buzz on the show floor to what it certainly felt as the largest Europe Conference to date.

The most anticipated session today took place in the afternoon and continued with the most talked about topic of the Conference: Privacy. In the Security vs. Privacy – The BIG Fight session panelists: Carsten Casper, Gartner Research, Antonis Patrikios, Field Fisher Waterhouse LLP, David Cripps, Investec UK, J.C. Boggs, King & Spalding and Neira Jones, Accourt discussed the challenges around the complexity of laws and regulations, around security and privacy especially in the global market.

In the final keynote of the Conference Lord Sebastian Coe, Former Chairman of the London Organising Committee for the Olympic and Paralympic Games (LOCOG) and previously one of the greatest British athletes in history gave a fascinating speech and his unique insights into the remarkable success story of London 2012 and how his team provided a world-class security for both participants and spectators. He highlighted the need to build a resilient and dependable team, from a variety of backgrounds; to be seen to deliver on your vision (even while under constant scrutiny); and to communicate pre-emptively and leave nothing to chance.
