RSA Conference Asia Pacific and Japan - Guest Keynote Speakers

Posted on by Linda Gray Martin

RSA® Conference AP&J 2014 is 10 weeks away and I’m happy to share that the full session agenda is now live! Check out the 7 track sessions, 50+ sessions and information about our keynote speakers confirmed to-date.

Britta Glade, the new RSAC Content Manager, will be sharing her insights on the track sessions over the next few weeks, however I want to take this opportunity to go into a bit more detail about our guest keynote speakers -- Professor Andrew McAfee, Principal Research Scientist at MIT and Fellow at Harvard Law School, and David Walsh the UK journalist responsible for blowing the whistle on Lance Armstrong -- as both are charismatic presenters with fascinating stories.

Professor McAfee is going to be talking about the Second Machine Age, and how the “brilliant technologies” we are lucky enough to experience today, have brought about amazing transformation, which although has a very positive up-side, can also bring challenges.

Over and above his New York Times bestseller published this year, The Second Machine Age: Work, Progress, and Prosperity in a Time of Brilliant Technologies, Professor McAfee writes numerous blogs, academic papers and articles for various publications including the Wall Street Journal and the New York Times. He’s also presented for TED and featured on the Charlie Rose Show and 60 minutes.

David_WalshDavid Walsh is the Chief Sports Writer for the Sunday Times and has dedicated much of the last 15 years to exposing the truth about Lance Armstrong, and illegal doping in professional cycling.  In the end, the the truth came out that Armstrong cheated in all 7 of his Tour de France victories and has since been banned for life for competing in any sport.  I’ve seen numerous video clips of Lance Armstrong denying any wrong-doing and it’s astonishing to think that there would be such a turn-around when he confessed on the Oprah Winfrey Show in January 2013.

Walsh is a 4-time winner of the Irish Sports Writer of the Year and a 4-time winner of the UK Sports Writer of the Year.  He was recently judged Journalist of the Year at the British Press Awards for his work on the Lance Armstrong story

Don’t miss these 2 powerful keynote sessions.
