We encourage you to check out the complete line-up of topics and tracks and add to your week’s agenda. Here’s just a sampling of what was covered in our Industry Experts track today and available both for Conference attendees and those joining via RSACOnDemand:
- POTUS Is Posting: Social Media and National Security - Russian involvement in the 2016 US election and President Trump’s arsenal of tweets barely hint at the ways in which social media now plays a role in our national security. This talk showed how social media is a platform for crime, espionage, propaganda, terrorism and war.
- Hacking Exposed: Melting Down Memory- In the raw “Hacking Exposed” style, this session demonstrated attacks on Linux, IOT and machine-learning evasions while also providing relevant countermeasures for detection and response.
- The Rise of Confidential Computing - This talk described the architectures, runtimes, compilers and tooling for the creation of confidential computing services using Trusted Execution Environments (TEEs), which implement safe data processing environments inside untrusted or compromised computers.
- Hacking Exposed NextGen (AI Powered) - This session looked at the year’s headline hacks and offered likely explanations of each, how they worked and what went into each of them to make them so successful. Also, participants discussed and got a demonstration of potential AI techniques used by cyber attackers.
Quick quiz: What are the Five Most Dangerous New Attack Techniques and What’s coming Next? Well positioned to answer that question on Wednesday was the head of the Internet Storm Center, a top hacker exploits expert/teacher in the U.S. and a top expert on cyberattacks in the United Kingdom. These panelists joined moderator Allan Paller, Research Director and Founder, SANS Institute for one of Wednesday’s top keynotes.
